The Centre Cougars had a 10-9 lead after the first quarter Friday at Wakefield, but from then on, their shooting turned cold. They were defeated 53-27.
Wakefield outscored Centre 12-4 in the second quarter, 21-4 in the third quarter, and 11-9 in the fourth quarter.
Wakefield’s Troy Adams tallied six 3-pointers, five of them scored in the second half. Two other Wakefield players also made treys.
Centre’s leading scorer was Dylan Deines with 8 points. Dakota Stimpson made 7 points.
The Cougars will play Chase County Friday in a homecoming game.
