Brad Cady joined Marion Police Department at the beginning of March, after spending two years as a full-time police officer in Peabody and part-time stints in Sedgwick County and Marion.

Cady has a strong family connection to Marion. His parents moved to Marion in 1990, he moved to town four years ago, and he has a sister and a brother in town.

Cady enjoys law enforcement as a method to serve others.

“It’s a good field,” he said. “You get to help people.”

Marion Police Chief Josh Whitwell said Cady’s personality makes him a good fit for the department.

“He knows how to deal with and treat people,” Whitwell said. “He can relate to the citizens and enjoys the small community. People will relate well with Brad; he’s approachable and relaxed, making him easy to talk to.”
