Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes will be filled and wrapped at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall. A list of suitable items was published earlier in the paper. Money is needed for postage. Snacks will be served during the evening.

There will be a baby shower for Adriane (Peterson) Richa 2 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Hebron Lutheran Church basement.

The Burdick United Methodist Church will not have services Sunday.

Evelyn Forsberg was an afternoon visitor Oct. 26 of Lois Peterson.

Mary Deane Peterson was a morning visitor Oct. 27 of Mary Haefner in Marion.

Tye Remy of Manhattan and Katie Remy were evening visitors Saturday of Elinor Remy.

Dean Forsberg was a dinner guest Oct. 27 and 30 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Jean Brunner of Ramona, Leah Brunner of Herington, Jill Brunner and Tucker of Emporia, and Mike Carlson were Saturday afternoon visitors of Charles and Arlene Carlson.

The Burdick Senior Citizens will meet at noon Nov. 20 at the Legion hall. There will be a catered Thanksgiving meal served with a presentation following.

Sunday dinner and afternoon guests of Burdette and Maureen Peterson were Mary Deane Peterson, Bret and Lisa Beyes, Caylin and Chelsea Cowart, Samantha Beyes, Elizabeth Beyes, Ron and Jena Schrader, Shae and Hunter, and Cesar and Kelli Salazar, Rigo and Mario.

Savannah Forsberg was a Saturday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg and brought a pumpkin for Halloween.

Ryan Sader of Salina took Ruth Riggin to Wamego Oct. 28 to visit Gary Zinn.

Lois Peterson accompanied Ruth Riggin to Salina Sunday to attend a birthday party for Brian Sader at the home of Lyal and Julie Sader. Other attendees were Brian’s children Trevin and Brylee Sader; Tisha Bielefed, Seth and Morgan; and Helen Sader.

Evelyn Forsberg was a Sunday afternoon visitor of Harry Schump in Herington.

A cluster meeting was held Saturday morning at the Hebron Lutheran Church. Other churches participating were Herington, Chapman, Marion, and Hillsboro.

Pat Miller of Herington was a morning visitor Oct. 28 of Mary Deane Peterson.

The Burdick United Methodist Church junior/senior high Sunday school class sponsored a chili feed after church services Sunday to raise money for the new organ. It was well attended and a generous amount of money was raised.

Saturday evening visitors of Mary Deane Peterson were Cesar and Kelli Salazar, Rigo and Mario; Marvin Peterson; Carla Chase; Burdette and Maureen Peterson; and 17 Halloween guests.

Mary Deane Peterson was a Sunday evening visitor of Darlene Gutsch.

Linnew Barlow is in the Herington Hospital recuperating from shoulder surgery.

Pancake Days are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 14 at the Burdick Legion hall.
