The 38th Labor Day Celebration is history. The weather was pleasant, and most events were well attended.

Untamed Country provided Sunday evening entertainment. During an intermission, Gene and Doris Winkler of Marion showed a video of past Labor Day parades assembled from footage by George Adams.

Neva Peterson of Salina spent the weekend at her home in Burdick. Guests included Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo.; Darrell and Candice Denault of Salina; Josh Peterson and his daughter, Lilly, of Grand Lake, Colo.; and Mike and Lisa Dickinson and their children, Hayden and Reily, of Erie, Colo.

Paul and Claudia McGinness and sons Christian and Grant of Wichita visited Clint and Diana Jost on Saturday. Nick, Beth, and Kaylee Weibert of Abilene and Jay and Donna Beck and family of Junction City visited for dinner Sunday. John, Tory, and Collin Jost of St. Mary’s visited Sunday evening and Monday.

Dean Forsberg visited Evelyn Forsberg Aug. 30, Sept. 1, and Friday.

Perry Gutsch visited Darlene Gutsch Saturday.

Marilyn Hageberg was hospitalized Aug. 30 through Friday in Herington and Topeka.

Brian and Lauri Meyers of Overland Park visited Lee and Al Shade Saturday afternoon. They visited local shops and had dinner in Lost Springs.

Dean, Nanette, and Logan Forsberg; Korror and Garrett Dunkin of Wichita; and McKenna Fogo of Salina visited Evelyn Forsberg Saturday morning. Harry Schump, Willy and Savannah Hicks, Sabrina Dunkin and sons, Ethan Forsberg, and Jane Rickenbrode and children Wade and Morgan visited Saturday afternoon.

Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Mike and Linda Carlson Saturday for a cookout. Other guests were Jonnie and Cicely Karst and children Rylee, Preslee, and Britlee of Wichita.

Karen and Gary Korte of Emporia and Erin Korte and Jayson Hauser of Topeka visited Forrest and Marie Anderson for Labor Day weekend.

Evelyn Forsberg and Harry Schump were Sunday dinner guests of Jane Rickenbrode and Wade and Morgan at Council Grove.

Tye Remy of Manhattan and three of his school friends visited Elinor Remy Friday afternoon. They attended the Centre High School football game that evening.

Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Kent and Jean Brunner Sunday for dinner at Ramona. Other guests were John and Amy Hanely of Lawrence, Jill and Tucker Brunner of Emporia, and Nolan, Melissa, Leah, and Noah Brunner of Herington.

Perry Gutsch took his mother, Darlene Gutsch, to the community church service Sunday morning at the tennis court.
