Residents attend conservation dinner and meeting

Forrest and Marie Anderson accompanied Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Lois Peterson, and Elinor Remy accompanied Diana Jost to the Morris County Conservation dinner and meeting Saturday evening at the Community Building in Council Grove.

Gary Hageberg came home Thursday from Herington Municipal Hospital where he recovered from a broken hip and received physical therapy. Visitors at the Hageberg home included Dan and Mike Hageberg and Trevor; Dan Peterson; Glen Carlson; Darrell Swinney; Carla Engler, Nathaniel, and Samantha; Lee Shade; and Shirley Miller.

Burdick Council of Clubs will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 at Burdick Legion Hall.

Burdick United Methodist Church Youth Group is seeking donations of canned goods including canned soups and crackers for the food bank.

Dan and Dee Hageberg and their granddaughters were visitors Saturday afternoon of Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Evelyn Forsberg received word Jan. 25 that her brother, Elmer Schump of Apache Junction, Ariz., had died.

Roger and Rolland Peterson visited Charles and Arlene Peterson Thursday afternoon.

Dean Forsberg visited Evelyn Forsberg on Jan. 26. Evelyn visited Jane Rickenbrode that day in Council Grove.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were dinner guests Sunday of Kent and Jean Brunner at Ramona. Nolan and Melissa Brunner and children also were dinner guests.

Lois Peterson visited John and Adrienne Richard and Judah Sunday afternoon.

Ethan Forsberg of Jewell was a guest Friday morning and for dinner of Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdick United Methodist Church Youth Group will sponsor a “Soupper Bowl Meal” at noon Sunday at Fellowship Hall. Soup, breads, and dessert will be available for a donation. Proceeds will be sent to the “Choir of the Fire” in Tulsa, Okla.

Harry Schump was a visitor Saturday afternoon and evening of Evelyn Forsberg. He took her to church. Other visitors Saturday evening were Willie and Savannah Hicks.

Lois Peterson visited Ruth Riggin Thursday at Holiday Resort in Salina. They ate dinner together.

Evelyn Forsberg hosted a birthday dinner for Harry Schump Sunday at her home. Attending were Sabrina Dunkin and sons of Rose Hill, Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Ethan Forsberg, McKenna Fogo, and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade, and Morgan of Council Grove.

The seventh annual Valentine auction will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 12 at Burdick United Methodist Church with soups, breads, desserts, and drinks. Meal will be by donation. An auction will begin after the meal at approximately 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the meal and auction will go to the benevolent fund at the church.
