Katie Carlson recently graduated from Washburn University in Topeka with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. Those who celebrated with her in Topeka include her fiancé Daniel Burgett; Glenn and Sandy Carlson and Andy; Michael and Angie Stika, Micayla, Alex, Myranda, and Aaron of Burdick; Justin and Laurie Carlson, Jordan, Lauren, and Mija of Council Grove; Phil and Jody Roberts of Topeka; and Steve and Vinduska and Tim Vinduska of El Dorado.
Perry Gutsch was a morning visitor May 25 of Darlene Gutsch.
Burdick United Methodist Church will have vacation Bible school 1:30 to 4 p.m. June 20 through 23 at the fellowship hall. All children in preschool through sixth grade are invited to attend.
Dean Forsberg was a morning visitor May 25 and an afternoon visitor May 27 of Evelyn Forsberg.
Perry Gutsch and Whitney of Herington were afternoon visitors May 29 of Darlene Gutsch. They fixed bouquets of roses and peonies to take to Charles’ grave in Lincolnville.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Diepenbrock of Wichita and Sharon Profitt and Tisha and Ronnie Diepenbrock of San Diego, Calif., were afternoon visitors May 29 of Elinor Remy.
Sabrina Dunkin of Rose Hill was a morning visitor May 28 of Evelyn Forsberg. Afternoon visitors were Harold and Oriana Schump of Arlington, Texas, and Harry Schump of Herington.
Evelyn Forsberg attended her granddaughter Morgan Rickenbrode’s class day May 30 in Council Grove. That evening she attended Morgan’s graduation and party.
Karen Korte of Emporia spent the day May 25 with Forrest and Marie Anderson.
Ron and Jenny Schrader, Shae, and Hunter of Wichita and Cesar and Kelly Salazar, Rigo, and Mario of Derby were May 28 through 30 guests of Burdette and Maureen Peterson. Joining them for breakfast May 29 were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lueker of Hoisington. Supper guests were their houseguests; Bret and Lisa Beye, Cuyler, and Chelsea of Herington; and Samantha Beye of Emporia. Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia spent May 28 through 30 with Forrest and Marie Anderson. Gary did chores for the Andersons. The Kortes helped the Andersons take flowers to decorate graves May 29.
Charles and Arlene Carlson attended a cookout and 10th birthday party for Tucker Brunner on May 28. Evelyn Forsberg and Harry Schump attended the Wilsey Alumni Dinner on May 29 in Council Grove. That evening they attended a birthday party for Wade Rickenbrode’s 16th birthday at the home of Dean and Nanette Forsberg in Burdick. Guests included Jane Rickenbrode and Morgan, Madison Marsh of Council Grove, Ethan Forsberg, and Sabrina Dunkin and boys of Rose Hill.
