There was a potluck dinner Aug. 7 at Burdick United Methodist Church welcoming Sebastian and Mellissa Morales to the community.

Larry Peterson and his grandson, Hayden Dixon of Granby, Colo., came one day to pick up Neva Peterson to bring her from Salina to her home in Burdick to spend a few days.

Leona Otte’s birthday was celebrated Thursday. Joining her were Walt and Katherine Otte and Wayne and Viola Hubbard. The group went to the home of Wayne and Viola Hubbard for ice cream and cake after lunch.

Lee Shade visited with Neva Peterson on Aug. 9 at her home in Burdick.

Marie and Forrest Anderson attended a couples’ bridal shower for Erin Korte on Aug. 6 at the home of Glenda Priest in Emporia. Hostesses were Glenda Priest and Sarah, Mrs. Pearson and Kelsey, and Bev Maricevic and Maria.

Forrest and Marie Anderson attended a benefit dinner and music event at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Emporia. Their grandson, Gary, sang in the choir.

Last week

Dan and Linda Peterson are the grandparents of twins, Clara and Isaac, born July 26 to Jeff and Jaime Peterson of Eudora. Dan and Linda visited the parents and twins July 27 at the hospital.

Perry Gutsch was visitor Aug. 6 of Darlene Gutsch to help her with some problems and chores. He had attended the annual Gutsch reunion at noon held at the Herington Motel.

Dean Forsberg was visitor Aug. 5 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Dan Peterson and Warren Fike went to Onaga Aug. 5 to watch Jackson, Marshall, and Grace Fike show cattle at the county fair.

Arlene Carlson is a patient at the hospital at Junction City. Joyce Carlson is in St. Luke Hospital; Ruth Ann Carlson remains a patient at Parkside Home in Hillsboro.

Dan and Linda Peterson attended the Shrine Bowl at Hays on July 30. Their grandson, Tate Omli was a player for the West team.

Harry Schump of Herington took Evelyn Forsberg to Rose Hill Aug. 7 to visit Sabrina Dunkin and boys. They celebrated Hunter’s first birthday.

Burdick Senior citizens will meet at noon Friday at Burdick United Methodist Church for dinner and a meeting.

Lee Shade was a visitor of Linnea Barlow Aug. 6 at Herington Hospital.
