The Burdick United Methodist Women had 30 members attend their annual Christmas party with a covered dish meal Sunday at the church fellowship hall. The Rev. Jay and Donna Beck presented a reading about Christmas tea. Hot tea and cookies were served while prayer pal gifts were being exchanged and opened.

Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan, of Council Grove were evening visitors Dec. 3 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Ruth Riggin met Julie Sader in Junction City Friday to visit Gary Zinn in Wamego. The three had lunch and they celebrated his birthday.

Bud Smithson was a morning visitor Thursday of Darlene Gutsch and brought a gift of deer sausage.

Burdick United Methodist Church’s annual children’s Christmas program will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 20.

The Burdick Relay For Life team is collecting aluminum cans, with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. To donate cans, please put them in the container west of the Burdick United Methodist Church before Sunday.

Members of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America of Hebron Lutheran Church met Nov. 18 at the home of Hallie Novak. Attendees included Dollye Novak, Nancy Hanson, Lois Peterson, Alona Hedstrom, Gloria Martin, Carol Riffel, and Jewell Swinney.

Mary Deane Peterson is recovering from pneumonia. She went to Herington every day for medicine and is doing better. Roger and Rolland Peterson visited her Thursday evening.

Burdick Senior Citizens will meet at noon Dec. 18 at the Legion hall for a catered meal and a program. The seniors have also been invited to a lunch by the Lincolnville Wide Awake 4-H club at noon Dec. 28 at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

Wayne and Nancy Hanson and Allan were dinner guests Nov. 26 of Dennis and Mary Wendt and relatives in Herington.

Tom Nelson went to Alma, Neb., Sunday to participate in a 100th anniversary celebration at a church. He stayed the night and returned home Monday.

Josie Peterson and Carla Chase of Emporia had lunch out Sunday with Mary Deane Peterson in Herington.

Evelyn Forsberg was an afternoon visitor Thursday of Linnea Barlow.

Harry Schump of Herington was a dinner guest Saturday of Evelyn Forsberg.

Mary Deane Peterson attended choir practice Sunday at Hebron Lutheran Church. Bill and Judy Peterson were evening visitors.

Marcus Dunkin of Rose Hill and Ethan Forsberg of Jewell were morning visitors Saturday of Evelyn Forsberg.
