Ruth Riggin went to Salina Saturday to attend a soup dinner honoring Tisha Bielefeld’s birthday at the home of Lyal and Julie Sader. Attendees included Chris Bielefeld, Seth and Morgan, of Solomon; Helen Sader of Lindsborg; Brian Sader of Wichita; and Trevin and Brylee Sader of Salina.

Hebron Lutheran Church services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The annual church meeting will follow. A covered dish dinner will be held after the meeting.

Dean Forsberg was a morning visitor Jan. 11 and Thursday of Evelyn Forsberg.

The benefit sponsored by the Burdick Relay For Life team at the Legion hall Saturday was a success according to some of the organizers. The firewood that was auctioned brought a good price, the soup was nearly all consumed, and attendance was good at Bingo and cards.

Josie Peterson had lunch and spent the afternoon Sunday with Mary Deane Peterson.

Dan Peterson took Ruth Riggin to Wamego Jan. 11 to visit Gary Zinn. They group had lunch together.

Another benefit that is coming up is the annual Dinner and Valentine Auction Feb. 14 sponsored by the Burdick United Methodist Church. It is a fundraiser for their Benevolent Fund, which gives contributions to people in our area and elsewhere who are in need. The meal will consist of soup, relishes, dessert, and drink. The valentine auction will follow.

Mary Deane Peterson met Emily Fullerton of Lincoln, Neb., and Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington for lunch Friday at Lost Springs. Fullerton was on her way to visit her sister, Sara Denley and family in Winfield.

Darlene Gutsch accompanied Perry Gutsch and Whitney to Shelby Deines’ 18th birthday party Saturday hosted by Jeff and Gayla Deines, Jessica and Justin, at their home. Other attendees included Merv and Leona Deines; Terry and Julie Deines, McKanzie, Dillion, and Carly; Rosemary and Weldon Deines; Christina Bartel, Macy and Mason; Tanner Brunner; Seth Stroda; and Calvin Jeffries of Marion.

Walt and Katherine Otte joined other family Sunday in Salina to celebrate the birthdays of Nora and Stacy Otte. Attending were Walt and Katherine Otte, Stan and Nora Otte, Stacy Otte of Salina, and Amanda Otte of Manhattan.

Elinor Remy was a Friday visitor of Harold Diepenbrock at Medicalodges in Herington.
