Leona Anderson spent two days before Easter with Ron Anderson and family in the Kansas City area. Ron took her to the airport to catch a flight to Florida for the rest of her vacation. Leona spent Easter week in Winter Haven, Fla., with her sister-in-law, Alta Tiede. She reported that the weather was pleasant and pollen from grapefruit and orange trees settled like snow overnight on vehicles. Her relative lives in a park about 10 miles from the city, has a car, but doesn’t drive; so Leona was the designated driver. She reported that driving on a six-lane highway in 65- to 70-mph traffic was a challenge.
Whitney Gutsch of Herington accompanied Darlene Gutsch Saturday to a pancake feed at Main Street Senior Center.
Willie Hicks and Savannah Forsberg were visitors of Evelyn Forsberg Thursday evening.
Perry Gutsch visited Darlene Gutsch Saturday afternoon. He was getting lawnmowers ready for the mowing season.
Burdick Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday at the Legion Hall. A meal will be served at noon with a program to follow.
Mary Deane Peterson returned home Saturday from Herington Municipal Hospital. She reported she is doing well and glad to be home. Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville came Sunday and took her to Hebron Lutheran Services. Naomi Nelson and Tom Nelson were brief after-church visitors. Nancy Hanson was a visitor Sunday afternoon. Burdette and Maureen Peterson were visitors Sunday evening.
Dean and Nanette Forsberg and McKenna Fogo of Salina were visitors Saturday afternoon of Evelyn Forsberg.
Jean Brunner and Noah of Herington were visitors Sunday afternoon of Charles and Arlene Carlson. Mike and Linda Carlson visited Arlene and Charles Sunday afternoon.
Marie Anderson visited Mary Deane Peterson April 6 at Herington Municipal Hospital.
Julie Sader of Salina arrived Friday to pick up Ruth Riggin to stay overnight Friday and Saturday with her and Lyal at their home in Salina. Julie Sader and Ruth Riggin attended a baby shower Saturday afternoon in Detroit, honoring Rusty and A.J. Riggin’s son, Tanner, who is 2 weeks old. Julie brought Ruth back to her home at Burdick after the shower.
Harry Schump took Evelyn Forsberg out for dinner Sunday at Herington and she spent the afternoon visiting him at his home in Herington.
Elinor Remy attended the funeral of Beulah Boyer April 6 at Council Grove United Methodist Church.
Perry Gutsch and Anthony were visitors of Darlene Gutsch Sunday afternoon. While they were there, they mowed the lawn and trimmed and cut tree limbs.
Lois Peterson and Ruth Riggin had dinner Sunday at a café in Tampa.
Clint and Diana Jost and James Jost attended a birthday party Saturday evening at the home of the Brady Platz family in Wilsey. Birthdays were being celebrated by Brady and Wanda.
Burdick United Methodist Women will sponsor the annual Spring Tea at 6:30 p.m. April 21 at Fellowship Hall. A light supper will be served with a program to follow by Nellie Kassebaum who will talk about her trip to Peru last year. Everyone is welcome to attend.
