Following services at St. Paul Lutheran Church, many residents from the Burdick area attended the Ordination service and dinner for Bill Peterson Sunday at the community building. Many of Peterson’s Burdick relatives had a part in the service, as did several of his Burdick Hebron Lutheran congregation. Congratulations to Peterson and his family at this most important achievement and milestone of his life. Among those attending were Keith and Dianne Miller of Grand Junction, Colo.; Lois Peterson; Lee Shade; Leona Anderson; Don Anderson of Emporia; Elinor Remy; and Naomi Nelson.

Visitors of Mary Deane Peterson were Lee Shade; Evelyn Forsberg; Diana Ecklund of Lincolnville; Naomi Nelson; Tom Nelson; Nancy Hanson; Burdett and Maureen Peterson; Forrest and Marie Anderson; and Barbara Gibson and Betty Lundy of Emporia.

Dean Forsberg was a morning visitor April 14 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdick Senior Citizens met at noon Friday at the Burdick Legion hall with a catered chicken dinner. Attendees included Lee Shade, Lois Peterson, Forrest and Marie Anderson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson, Linnea Barlow, Elinor Remy, Leona Anderson, Darlene Gutsch, Gary and Marilyn Hageberg, and Nancy Hanson. The next meeting will be in the evening May 21 at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall with foreign exchange students giving a presentation. Members attending are asked to bring a snack to share. More details will follow later.

Pat Baker of Lawrence was an April 13 visitor of Ruth Riggin. They had dinner out in Tampa.

Glenn Carlson was a morning visitor Friday of Evelyn Forsberg.

Bill Peterson of Herington took Mary Deane Peterson to a doctor appointment Friday in Wichita.

Lois Peterson accompanied Ruth Riggin to visit Gary Zinn Thursday in Wamego.

Keith and Bonnie Sue Hefner of Wagoner, Okla., were weekend guests of Evelyn Forsberg. Harry Schump of Herington was an additional supper guest Friday and Ethan Forsberg was an evening visitor. The Hefners and Forsberg went to the 10 a.m. wedding Saturday of Savannah Forsberg and Willie Hicks at Lull Medows, north of Council Grove. A dinner and reception followed. Forsberg and the Hefners were late afternoon visitors Saturday of Earl and Ruth Schump in Herington. Dean Forsberg was an evening visitor of Evelyn Forsberg and her houseguests. Sunday morning visitors were Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin, Logan, Konnor, and Garrett of Rose Hill. Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan, of Council Grove, brought a dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the trimmings Sunday for Forsberg, the Hefners, and Harry Shump. Afternoon visitors were Joe Forsberg from North Carolina and Willie and Savannah Hicks.

Julie Sader of Salina came Friday to take Ruth Riggin to Salina. Riggin was an overnight guest and Sader brought her back home Saturday morning.

Josie Peterson, Quentin Wacker, Marvin Peterson, and Carla Chase of Emporia were late afternoon visitors Saturday of Mary Deane Peterson. They stopped so Mary Deane could see them dressed for prom.

Ruby Peterson of Joplin, Mo., spent Monday with Mary Deane Peterson.

Evelyn Forsberg was an evening visitor Sunday of Darlene Gutsch.
