Forrest and Marie Anderson attended a retirement party and reception May 11 for their daughter, Karen Korte, at Walnut Elementary School in Emporia. She has completed 27 years of service and was presented with a scrapbook and cake.

Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville and Carla Chase of Emporia took Mary Deane Peterson to a doctor appointment May 12 in Wichita.

Perry Gutsch and Anthony of Herington were afternoon visitors May 11 of Darlene Gutsch. Perry was also a visitor May 12.

Jean Brunner took Arlene Carlson to an appointment Friday and assisted Charles and Arlene Carlson with grocery shopping.

Visitors of Mary Deane Peterson last week were Nancy Hanson, Evelyn Forsberg, Lois Peterson, Diana Jost, and Angie Basore and Matthew.

Forrest and Marie Anderson, Elinor Remy, and Lois Peterson attended Centre High School’s graduation Sunday. Afterward they went to Lincolnville for Josie Peterson’s graduation party.

Adrienne Richard and Judah of Lawrence were visitors Saturday of Jamie and Phil Peterson and their guest Sarah, a former foreign exchange student. Judah was an overnight guest and the Petersons took him home Sunday.

Evelyn Forsberg was an afternoon visitor May 11 of Harry Schump in Herington.

Pete and Connie Bradish of Titusville, Fla., were visitors Thursday of Leona Anderson. They had supper out together in Lost Springs. Connie is the daughter of the late Milt Ohlman.

Dean Forsberg was an afternoon visitor Friday of Evelyn Forsberg.

Lois Peterson was an afternoon guest Saturday of Al and Lee Shade.

Connie Johnson and Kodie took Allen, Wayne, and Nancy Hanson, and Pam Ackley out for supper Thursday evening. The group was celebrating Allen’s birthday and Mother’s Day.

Anthony Gutsch took Darlene Gutsch to a graduation party Sunday afternoon for Shelby Deines. Jeff and Gayla Deines, Justin, and Jessica hosted the party at their home. Perry Gutsch and Whitney took Darlene home later in the evening.

There will be a community shower for Ally Will and her daughter Sadie at 2 p.m. May 29 Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Hosts will be Karen Biehler, Janet Matz, Diana Jost, Ruth Ann Carlson, and Susan Carlson. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Elinor Remy and Leona Anderson went to an appointment May 12 in Manhattan. Afterward, they went shopping and had supper out in Junction City.

Senior Citizens will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall. The featured speaker will be Justin, the foreign exchange student staying with Ronnie and Susan Carlson. Participants are asked to bring a snack to share.

Harry Schump was a dinner guest Sunday of Evelyn Forsberg. They attended graduation at Centre and a party for Sammi Seifert in Lost Springs.

Preslee Karst of Wichita stayed several days this week with Mike and Linda Carlson. While there, they visited Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Dean Forsberg was a visitor of Evelyn Forsberg May 3.

Forrest and Marie Anderson attended a Kansas State University graduation service for Jayson Houser of Topeka at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salina. Jayson received a Bachelor of Science degree in technology management. At noon, they attended a dinner for Jayson, hosted by his parents, at a local hotel.

Jean Brunner took Charles and Arlene Carlson to Ramona Lutheran Church services Sunday morning. Kent and Jean Brunner hosted a Mother’s Day dinner for Charles and Arlene Carlson, Mike and Linda Carlson, Nolan Brunner, Jill Brunner and Tucker of Emporia, and John and Ann Hanely of Olathe. Jill and Ann cooked the dinner.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg attended the Centre FFA banquet May 4 at Centre High School.

Whitney Gutsch accompanied her grandmother, Darlene Gutsch, to a pancake feed Saturday morning at the Main Street Senior Center in Herington.

Julie Sader and Ruth Riggin of Salina spent Saturday at Burdick. Lois Peterson visited with them.

Tom and Lynley Remy and Katie Remy, Tad, and Tye of Manhattan were supper guests Sunday of Elinor Remy.

Lois Peterson accompanied Jim and Marilyn Peterson Saturday evening to Topeka. They met Matt and Jamie Dalke, Tyler, and Reagan of Chapman and Mike Peterson and Kasey of Lyndon for an evening meal.

Those enjoying Mother’s Day dinner noon Sunday at a Herington restaurant were Evelyn Forsberg, Harry Schump, and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade, and Morgan of Council Grove.

Services were Saturday afternoon for Gertrude (Hurd) Woodward, a former resident of the area, at Burdick Hebron Lutheran Church. Evelyn Forsberg, Mary Deane Peterson, and Josie Peterson attended the services.

Harry Schump was a dinner guest May 5 of Evelyn Forsberg. He also mowed Evelyn’s lawn.

Perry Gutsch visited Darlene Gutsch Saturday afternoon. He brought flowers for Darlene’s outdoor planters and planted them.

Bill Peterson took Mary Deane Peterson for an appointment Thursday afternoon in Wichita.

Savannah Hicks was an evening visitor Thursday of Evelyn Forsberg.

Neva Joyce Fischer of Wichita was an afternoon visitor Thursday of Darlene Gutsch. She had visited her brother, Bill, at Council Grove earlier in the afternoon.

Harry Schump of Herington took Evelyn Forsberg to her eye doctor appointment May 4 in Emporia.

Visitors of Mary Deane Peterson this week were Diana and Rinnea Ecklund of Lincolnville, Joyce Roever, Lisa Beye of Herington, Marvin Peterson and Josie of Lincolnville, Angela Basore and Matthew, and Evelyn Forsberg.

Evelyn Forsberg attended the first birthday party for Garrett Dunkin of Rose Hill Saturday evening at a restaurant in Council Grove.

Lois Peterson attended a dinner Sunday hosted by Phil and Jamie Peterson at Burdick. Other guests were Joyce Roever, David and Dannie Miller of Lincolnville; Geneva Wallace, Darrin and Amy Makovec, Ellie, and Shelby of Ramona; and Dana Miller and Scarlett of Lawrence.

Dean and Nanette Forsberg hosted a meal Sunday evening at a McPherson restaurant for Mother’s Day. Those attending were Evelyn Forsberg, Nancy Hickman, Ethan Forsberg of Jewell, and Sabrina Dunkin, Logan, Konnor, and Garrett of Rose Hill.

Josie Peterson stayed the weekend with Mary Deane Peterson.

Donalie Tanner and son, Jim, of Wichita, were visitors Thursday afternoon of Burdette and Maureen Peterson and other relatives in the area.

Perry Gutsch picked up Darlene Gutsch Sunday morning for Mother’s Day dinner out at Herington. Others joining them were Amy Gutsch, Anthony, and Whitney; Jeff and Gayla Deines and Shelby; and Justin and Jessica Deines of Ramona.
