Burdick United Methodist Church will sponsor a friendship day at 7 p.m. Sunday at the park shelter house in Burdick. Participants should bring a covered dish and lawn chairs. Hamburgers, brats, drinks, and table service will be provided. Music will be by First Christian Church Praise and Worship Band from Junction City.

Al and Lee Shade visited Ruth Ann Carlson on July 26 at the McPherson hospital and took flowers to her from the Burdick United Methodist Women.

Dean Forsberg was a dinner guest July 21 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Darlene Gutsch met her sister, Doris Winkler, and nephew, Bruce Winkler, for supper July 23 in Lost Springs.

Jan Creger, Caleb and Jacob of Ridgedale, Mo., visited Elinor Remy July 20 through 22. Elinor was host for a supper July 21 for her houseguests and Tom Remy and Tye.

Harry Schump of Herington and Dean Forsberg were afternoon visitors July 22 of Evelyn Forsberg. Later, Harry and Evelyn visited Jane Rickenbrode and family and her houseguest, Jordan Crabtree of Wagoner, Okla., at Jane’s home in Council Grove.

Visitors of Mary Deane Peterson last week were Nancy Hanson, Burdette and Maureen Peterson, and Dorothy Broce of Lincolnville.

Becky Hedstrom, Megan and Reece of St. Bonifacius, Minn., are spent a few days with Bruce and Alona Hedstrom. Becky and Alona joined Becky’s family from Caldwell and attended the American Idol concert July 24 in Tulsa. One of the performers, Scott MacIntyre of Arizona, is Becky’s second cousin. They received backstage passes and got autographs from performers.

Clint and Diana Jost were afternoon visitors July 25 of John and Tory Jost and Collin at St. Mary’s.

Dinner guests July 23 of Evelyn Forsberg were Jordan Crabtree, Morgan Rickenbrode, and Savannah Forsberg.

Forrest and Marie Anderson were afternoon visitors July 26 of Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson of Lincolnville.

Evening visitors July 25 of Mary Deane Peterson were Eric Peterson of Overland Park, Carla Chase of Emporia, and Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville.

Savannah Forsberg and Willie Hicks were evening visitors July 25 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Paul and Brenda Starr and Dalton and Delores Hatterman of Herington picked up Brad and Alexis Hatterman of Orlando, Fla. from the Wichita Airport. They stopped at the home of Drew and Ashley (Hatterman) Pelz to see their new baby, Logan. Briar Starr visited his grandmother July 26 to watch car races.

Brian and Nancy Hatterman of Herington were weekend visitors of Drew and Ashley Pelz. They visited their new grandchild.

Tucker Brunner of Emporia spent the afternoon of July 24 with his great-grandfather, Charles Carlson, while Jean Brunner and Arlene Carlson were shopping in Herington.

Many attended the Burdick Relay for Life benefit July 26 at the Burdick United Methodist Church.

Bruce and Alona Hedstrom and their houseguests, Becky Hedstrom, Regan and Reece and Tana Riffel, Callie, Caily, and Jensen attended the Kingman County Fair on July 25 to watch Drew, Riley, and Seth Krehbiel show their 4-H projects.

Visitors of Darlene Gutsch during the week were Gary Hageberg, Marilyn Hageberg, and Lois Peterson. Perry Gutsch and Anthony of Herington were afternoon visitors July 26.

Lois Peterson was a morning visitor July 23 of Marie Anderson.

Marcus and Peggy Carlson of Lincolnville will be host for a foreign exchange student, Husrav Mirov, 17, from Khujand, Tajikistan. The Carlsons visited Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson July 26.

Gary and Marilyn Hagberg were visitors July 26 of Teresa Hageberg and Kenny Roberts in Topeka. They went shopping in the afternoon and ate supper before returning home.

Dean and Nanette Forsberg were evening visitors July 26 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Lunch guests July 26 of Mary Deane Peterson were Josie Peterson, Marvin Peterson, Quentin Wacker, and Eric Peterson.

Ruth Ann Carlson, Isla Rose Nelson, and Mary Deane Peterson all have had surgery.
