There will be an annual birthday party March 3 for the Corlberg-Smith #147 American Legion at the Legion Hall. A potluck supper will begin at 6:30 p.m. with ice cream and birthday cake furnished. We welcome all legion and auxiliary members and spouses.
Donlie Tanner of Wichita was a Tuesday visitor of Mary Deane Peterson. He had lunch with her and in the afternoon, they made some visits with Gail and Carol Burns at Delavan and others.
Dean Forsberg and Ethan Forsberg were Tuesday visitors of Evelyn Forsberg. Evelyn attended a birthday party for Ethan Tuesday evening at Council Grove.
Ruth Riggin met Lyal and Julie Sader Saturday at Junction City and accompanied them to Wamego to visit Gary Zinn. They ate lunch out at noon and enjoyed playing board games with Gary in the afternoon.
Ethan Forsberg was a Thursday visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Bill Newman and Mike Couch, of the Topeka weather bureau, were Thursday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.
Darlene Gutsch accompanied Bruce Winkler and Doris Winkler of Marion Thursday morning to Wichita to visit Dorothy Rindt. Darlene and Doris were lunch guests of Dorothy, and Bruce met his aunt, Debbi Kreutzman for lunch. Darlene remained in Wichita to spend a few days with her sister.
Evelyn Forsberg was a Friday afternoon visitor of Jane Rickenbrode at Council Grove. She also visited Wade and Morgan Rickenbrode after school.
Floyd Barnes, Walter Barnes, and Dr. Jane Barnes of Tulsa, Okla., arrived Friday and were guests of Mary Deane Peterson and family until Saturday morning. Friday evening, the Barnes’ and Mary Deane attended the Centre-Chase County girls’ basketball game at Centre in which Josie Peterson played. After the game, Mary Deane, Josie, and the Barnes ate supper at Lost Springs.
Hebron Lutheran WELCA met the afternoon of Feb. 18 at the home of Carol Riffel. Hallie Novak gave the lesson. Others attending were Gloria Martin, Nancy Hanson, Elinor Remy, and Naomi Nelson.
Burdick UMW met Wednesday evening at Burdick UMC Fellowship Hall with 11 members present. Devotions were given by Janet Matz, Diana Jost gave the lesson, and refreshments were served by Linda Peterson. The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. March 18 at the BUMC Fellowship Hall.
Dean and Nanette Forsberg entertained Saturday noon with a family dinner. They also had additional afternoon visitors. Evelyn Forsberg attended the dinner.
Charles and Arlene Carlson attended a birthday party Sunday afternoon for Vernolis Laudemann at White City. Others attending were Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington and Larry and Ruth Laudemann of White City.
Floyd Barnes of Tulsa entertained at the home of Mary Deane Peterson Saturday noon with a catered Chinese dinner he brought. Others attending were Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Marvin Peterson and Josie of Lincolnville, and Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington.
Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Dean Forsberg, Savannah Forsberg, and Willie Hicks were Sunday evening visitors.
Charles and Arlene Carlson attended the Trinity Lutheran Church pancake feed Sunday evening at Ramona.
Mary Deane Peterson and Lois Peterson accompanied Roger Peterson and Rolland Peterson to Lindsborg noon Sunday for dinner. After dinner, they all called on Evelyn Carlson at Bethany Home.
Bruce Winkler and Doris Winkler of Marion were noon Sunday guests of Dorothy Rindt of Wichita. They took Darlene Gutsch, who had been visiting for several days at Wichita, to her home Sunday evening at Burdick. During the time she spent with her sister, several neighbors and friends visited them.
