Bret and Lisa Beye, Cuyler and Chelsea of Herington entertained Sunday with an Easter dinner. Their guests were Samantha Beye of Emporia, Elizabeth Beye of Manhattan, Ron and Jenny Schrader, Shae and Hunter of Wichita, Cesar and Keli Salazar, Rico and Mario of Derby, Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington, Doreen Carlson of Chappel, Neb., Josh and Emily Fullerton of Lincoln, Neb., Dave and Sara Denly, Ben and Abby of Winfield, Marvin Peterson and Josie of Lincolnville, Eric Peterson of Prairie Village, Quinton Wacker of Lost Springs, Scott Peterson and friend, Mindy, of El Dorado, Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, and Mary Deane Peterson of Burdick.

Dean Forsberg was a Tuesday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Johnnie and Cicely Karst, Rylee, Preslee, and Britlee of Wichita were Saturday afternoon visitors of Charles and Arlene Carlson after they attended an Easter egg hunt in Herington. They attended a cookout Saturday evening at the home of Mike and Linda Carlson for an early Easter celebration.

Elinor Remy, Tad and Tye Remy of Manhattan were dinner guests Easter Sunday of Tom and Lynley Remy and Katie.

Dean Forsberg was a Thursday dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg.

Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo., and Josh Peterson of Grand Lake, Colo., visited Neva Peterson and Darrell and Candice Denault Tuesday evening at Salina. They brought Neva Peterson to Burdick Tuesday evening and stayed until Saturday morning.

Nine members attended the April 6 meeting of Council of Clubs at the Legion Hall. Plans were finalized for some of the entertainment for Sunday and Monday nights. A rock and roll contest will be part of Sunday night’s entertainment. The second edition of the Burdick cookbook was discussed and should be available by Labor Day. A meeting is planned in May.

Ruth Riggin attended an Easter Sunday dinner hosted by Lyal and Julie Sader at their home in Salina. Others in attendance were Helen Sader of Lindsborg, Tisha Bielefeld, Seth and Megan of Salina, Brian Sader, Trevor and Brylee, and Missy Uhler and Sammie of Wichita.

Donlie Tanner of Wichita had lunch with Mary Deane Peterson Tuesday. Later they called on Mr. and Mrs. Gail Burns at Delavan and other relatives. Afternoon callers who visited with Donlie were Nancy Hanson, Allen Hanson, and Maureen Peterson.

There were many services this week in area churches to celebrate the Easter season. Maundy Thursday services were held at Hebron Lutheran Church and joined by members of St. Paul Lutheran and Herington Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Peterson. The St. Paul choir participated in the service. Good Friday services were Friday evening at Burdick United Methodist Church with Pastor Jay J. Beck. Easter Sunday sunrise services and regular services were at Hebron Lutheran Church. A 10 a.m. service with a children’s Easter egg hunt following was held at Burdick United Methodist Church.

Gene Ronsick of Olathe spent the night Wednesday and Thursday with Neva Peterson and her houseguests. Glen Carlson was a Wednesday evening visitor.

Perry Gutsch, Anthony and Whitney of Herington arrived Sunday morning and took Darlene Gutsch to services at Burdick United Methodist Church. After church, Whitney participated in a children’s Easter egg hunt in the basement. They visited with Darlene at her home for a short time after church.

Forrest and Marie Anderson were overnight guests Saturday and Sunday of Gary and Karen Korte at Emporia. Other guests were Ian Korte of Lawrence, and Erin Korte and Jayson Hauser of Manhattan. They attended a 7 a.m. service and breakfast at St. Mark Lutheran Church of Emporia.

Lois Peterson was a dinner guest Easter Sunday at Ramona Senior Center. Al and Darlene Sondergard hosted the dinner. Jim and Marilyn Peterson of Burdick, Mike Peterson and Kasey of Lyndon, and other relatives attended the dinner.

Dean Forsberg was a Saturday evening visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Candice Denault of Salina arrived Friday evening at the home of Neva Peterson and stayed until Sunday afternoon. She took Neva to Salina. Lois Peterson was a Saturday afternoon visitor of Neva Peterson and Candice.

Shirley Miller was a Thursday morning guest of Marilyn Hageberg for tea and cinnamon rolls.

Evelyn Forsberg was a Sunday dinner guest of Harry Schump at Herington.

Lois Peterson and Ruth Riggin went to Wamego Wednesday to visit Gary Zinn and ate lunch with him.

An Easter dinner was held Sunday noon at the home of Lauren Brunner of Ramona, and hosted by Bernie and Ann Koch and family of Wichita. Guests attending were Charles and Arlene Carlson of Burdick, Kent and Jean Brunner, Tracy and Yvonne Brunner, Mark Brunner and Bryant, Jill Brunner and Tucker of Emporia, Derik Schrader of Alta Vista, Nolan and Melissa Brunner and Leah of Herington, John and Amy Hanley of Salina, and other relatives and friends.

Steve and Linda Schild of Burdick and Ken and Ila Bryant of Wichita were guests Easter Sunday of Paul and Nadine James at Emporia.

Please remember in your thoughts and prayers Shirley Miller who is having surgery this week at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, and Alton Matz.
