Burdick UMW will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church fellowship hall. Devotions and refreshments will be by Nancy Riggin. Karen Carlson will give the lesson.

Jean Brunner was a Tuesday evening visitor of Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Perry Gutsch and Anthony of Herington were Sunday morning visitors of Darlene Gutsch.

Woment of ELCA will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hebron Lutheran Church fellowship hall. Lois Peterson is hostess.

Josie Peterson of Lincolnville was a Sunday dinner guest of Mary Deane Peterson. She visited Lee Remy and Mary Haefner at Marion Sunday afternoon. Burdette and Maureen Peterson, and Chelsea Cowart of Herington were Sunday evening visitors.

The Gutsch Cousins reunion was held Sunday noon at the Burdick Legion Hall with 32 cousins attending. After the basket dinner, Lynley (Gutsch) Remy gave an inspirational and moving memorial for Linda (Gutsch) Gottstein, who died Dec. 16, 2007. A short business meeting was held. Reports were given by cousins who were there and also on cousins who were not there and illnesses. Dean Gutsch and Brenda Swinney were re-elected president and secretary for the next year. The Gutsch Cousins reunion will be held next year on Oct. 4 at the Burdick Legion Hall.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg, Lois Peterson, and Ruth Riggin attended the soup dinner at noon Saturday given by the Lincolnville United Methodist Church at Octoberfest. Lois Peterson and Ruth Riggin attended the parade in the afternoon and bingo.

Dean Forsberg was a Monday morning visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Darlene Gutsch was a Friday afternoon visitor of Marilyn Hageberg.

Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Jean Brunner Saturday afternoon. Leah Brunner of Herington was there also, so they got to visit with her.

Ruth Riggin accompanied Lyal and Julie Sader of Salina to Wichita Sunday to visit Dennis Schroer at the rehabilitation center. They also had dinner in Wichita. Ruth reports Dennis is improving some since his fall.

Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Other dinner guests were Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin, Logan and Konner of Rose Hill, Ethan Forsberg from Okla., Savannah Forsberg of Emporia, and Willie Hicks.

Neva Peterson was back in Burdick and spent some time this weekend.

Forest and Marie Anderson were Saturday guests of Gary and Karen Korte at Emporia and enjoyed a steak fry with them.

The annual Gutsch cousins reunion will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Burdick American Legion Building. Bring a basket dinner and table service. Drinks will be furnished.

After the memorial service for Donald L. Miller Friday morning at the Wilsey Cemetery with Pastor Jay J. Beck officiating, the Burdick United Methodist Women served a noon luncheon for family and friends. Those helping to serve the lunch were Diana Jost, Jean Ecklund, Melissa Hendershott, Lee Shade, and Darlene Gutsch.

Gayle Deines was a visitor Wednesday evening after a turkey dinner of Darlene Gutsch. Gayle helped Darlene carry items home and assisted with other chores.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg visited Teresa Hageberg Sunday afternoon at Topeka. Teresa, Gary and Marilyn, and Kenny Roberts went out to supper together.

Dean and Nanette Forsberg were Tuesday dinner guests of Evelyn Forsberg.

Jill Brunner and Tucker of Emporia were Sunday afternoon visitors of Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Eric Peterson of Emporia was a Saturday guest of Mary Deane Peterson and helped her with some chores.

Ruth Riggin and Lois Peterson attended the outdoor wedding of Lisa Sader, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sader, Saturday afternoon at their farm near Lindsborg. There was a dinner, reception, and dance following the wedding.

Dean Forsberg and Glenn Carlson were Friday evening visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.

Lois Peterson attended the annual American Legion and auxiliary information meeting Wednesday morning at Lincolnville.

Mary Deane Peterson and Josie Peterson attended the Disability Hunt picnic Sunday evening at French Creek Cove at Marion Reservoir.

The annual Burdick United Methodist Women’s Turkey Supper was held on a perfect Indian summer evening this past Wednesday to a fair-sized crowd at the Burdick United Methodist Fellowship Hall. A lot of fun and fellowship was had in the kitchen with preparations and a lot of hard work. Our appreciation goes to all who brought food and helped with our annual money-making event.

The St. Paul Lutheran Women’s Group of Herington hosted the Burdick Hebron Lutheran Women Sunday afternoon to a program and fellowship, at the parish hall.

Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Harry Schump were late Friday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg. Refreshments were served to celebrate Dean’s birthday.

Mary Deane Peterson accompanied Tom Nelson and Naomi Nelson Friday morning to the memorial service for Donald L. Miller. Others attending were Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Bruce Hedstrom, LaVerna Miller of Herington, and Al and Deloris Fisher who went to the lunch at the church.

Whitney Gutsch of Herington spent Saturday with Darlene Gutsch. At noon, they went out to lunch at Dairy Queen in Herington, did some shopping and Whitney got to play some games at the fairgrounds. Perry Gutsch came after work to pick up Whitney and was a supper guest.

Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg. Savannah Forsberg and friend, Sheila of Emporia, were afternoon visitors.

Ruth Riggin was a Friday afternoon visitor of Darlene Gutsch with some Council of Clubs business.

Remember Corlberg-Smith #147 American Legion Auxiliary meeting will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Legion Hall.
