The deadline is quickly approaching for candidates to file for the spring election of city council and school board positions.
All candidates must file with Marion County Clerk by noon Jan. 27 at the courthouse.
All cities in the county with the exception of Marion will hold elections for council seats.
Following are the cities and the positions with the mayors and councilmen who currently hold those seats.
Burns: Mayor and two council positions; Mary Glenn, Mark Brunhoeber, and Fritzie Hatfield.
Florence: Mayor and two council positions; Gregory A. Winn, Randy Mills, and Bryan Harper.
Hillsboro: Mayor and two council positions; Delores Dalke, Robert L. Watson, and Shane Marler.
Durham: Mayor and five council positions; Glennon Crowther, Gary D. Unruh, Verlin Sommerfeld, Steven B. Miller, Michael Sorenson, fifth seat is open.
Goessel: Mayor and two council positions; Peggy Jay, Larry Schmidt, and Larry Linderman.
Lehigh: Mayor and five council positions; Mike Geiman, Todd Jost, Eldon Kaiser, Brad Dies, Fred Sheridan, and John Masson.
Lincolnville: Mayor and two council positions; John Scott Gutsch, Sylvia M. Bailey, and Evelyn D. Matz.
Ramona: Mayor and five council positions; Patricia M. Wick, Angel Harold, Jeanette (Jeannie) Goza, Arthur E. Stroda, Kathy A. Werth, and Jayme Linn Brunner.
Lost Springs: Mayor and five council positions; Blaine Gehrke, Frank Wirtz, Cyndy Morton, Joe Alvarez, Angie Seifert, and Matt Kessler.
Peabody: Mayor and two council positions; Edmond N. Slocombe, Delbert Mellott, and Tim Peterson.
Tampa: Three council positions; Tom Moldenhauer, Paul Backhus, and Wilbert Backhus.
School boards
