Carl Penner, 85, of Peabody, died April 28 at home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1926, to Abraham and Elizabeth (Gaede) Penner. He was a railroad coach cleaner for 38 years.
In 1962, he married Georgia Cooper. She preceded him in death as did his siblings and a son, Pete Haviland.
Survivors include a son, Albert Haviland of Wichita; five daughters, Rosalene Thomason of Peabody, Violet Flippin of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mary Kathryn Hutchins, Martha JoAnn Johns, and Janice Ashley of Newton; and numerous grandchildren.
A memorial service was Tuesday at Peabody Christian Church.
Inurnment was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
