Carlene Propheter

5, of St. Joseph, Mo., died Oct. 15, 2008, at Wathena Nursing and Rehab Center, Wathena.

Born Sept. 8, 1943, in McPherson, she was the daughter of Oliver K. and Molley (Winters) Unruh.

On March 11, 1980, she married Howard L. Propheter at First United Methodist Church, Emporia. He survives of the home.

She graduated from Marion High School and Emporia State University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a minor in computer science. She started and managed C&H Accounting and Tax Service in Emporia and St. Joseph, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, David Ziegler and Randy Ziegler, a brother, Garland Unruh, and a sister, Vee Laralyne Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney Ziegler of Mooresburg, Tenn., and Johnathan Propheter of the home; a daughter, Genney Radke of Wichita; two sisters, Joyce Lee Kellison of Marion and Gayle Crawford of Gatesville, Texas; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday morning at Wathena. Burial was in Bellemont Cemetery, Wathena.

A memorial fund has been established with the Troy Ambulance Fund.
