Center prepares for new year
Marion Senior Center
The center ended December with a birthday — Joyce Jackson bringing treats on Dec. 29. The center encourages patrons to share their special days this way.
Now the center is ready for 2018 and its signature celebrations: Elvis (this past Friday), Poem in Your Pocket, National Day of the Cowboy, Cow Appreciation Day, National Pork Day, and Mickey Mouse’s birthday, to name a few.
The center also has programs most Wednesdays and card playing (especially Hand and Foot) most afternoons.
The center will be closed Monday and conduct a business meeting Jan. 17. If Marion schools close because of weather, the center also will close, but it has not had to close because of weather for a year or so.
