The Centre USD board of education met in special session Tuesday at the district office.

The meeting was necessitated when the board was informed that the bid they had accepted for a new intercom system did not include installation, which, when included, was higher than the next lowest bid.

The board rescinded the $14,399 bid approved Aug. 8 for a Rauland system and approved a bid from McClellan Sound, Wichita, for a cost not to exceed $17,031.69.
