Centre blown out by Little River, loses 52-0

The Centre football team lost at Little River 52-0 on Friday.

“It was a rough night,” coach Tye Remy said. “We’ve got to hang on to the ball.”

The game was over at halftime, as Little River racked up 38 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second, bringing into play the 45-point mercy rule.

Centre had just 15 carries for 14 yards compared with 28 carries and 256 yards by Little River. Quarterback Dakota Stimpson was Centre’s leading rusher, with five carries for 11 yards.

Stimpson threw 11 passes for four completions and 45 yards. Two passes were intercepted. Dylan Deines was the leading receiver with three catches for 30 yards. Conner Montgomery had one catch for 15 yards.

Cole Methvin was the leading tackler, with six. Stimpson and Brendon Bina had four tackles each, and Justin Bina had three.

Centre plays Goessel at home Friday.

“If we play like last week, it will be a tough game,” Remy said.
