Centre High School FFA placed second in the South Central District prepared public speaking competition Feb. 5 at Chaparral.

In the senior division, Theo Kassebaum placed fourth with her speech, “Free Trade and Government.” She will advance to the state competition in June.

Carrie Carlson placed seventh in the senior division with her speech, “Antibiotic Use in Livestock.”

In the junior division, Kevin Lewis placed first, and Shane Methvin placed fifth.

In the sophomore division, Makenzie Deines placed second, and Bryanna Svoboda placed fourth.

In the freshman division, Karl Riffel placed fourth. Kyle Methvin and Braden Pagenkopf also competed in the division.

FFA serving breakfast

Centre FFA will provide a free community breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Tampa Senior Center as a thank you for community support of FFA.

The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, coffee, and juice.
