On Sept. 19, the Centre FFA freshmen traveled to Arkansas City to attend the South Central District FFA Greenhand Conference and expand their interests and knowledge in FFA.

The attending greenhands were required to take a test over topics including who the district, state, and national FFA officers were as well as other FFA knowledge.

Tabitha Oborny placed first; Brenna Shields, third; Kailyn Riffel, fourth; Cassidy Hill, fifth; and Dakota Stimpson, eighth.

Other members attending included Justin Bina, Conner Montgomery, Mark Vinduska, Caleb Kristek, Jared Barney, Nellie Kassebaum, Callie Riffel, Shelby Makovec, and Tia Jenkins.

During the conference, the members attended breakout sessions covering topics from FFA official dress to interacting with other members. The conference concluded with a keynote address from National FFA Central Region Vice President Wyatt DeJong of South Dakota.
