Centre wins league forensics meet
The Centre High School forensics team won the Wheat State League championship April 6 at Elyria.
First-place individuals were: Sualeha Mustafa, informative speaking and prose interpretation; Carrie Carlson, original oration and extemporaneous speaking; Courtney Hett and Tabitha Oborny, duet acting; and Kevin Lewis, humorous solo.
Receiving second place were: Ally Basore, informative speaking; Mustafa, extemporaneous speaking; Carissa Shields, poetry interpretation; Cassy Thompson, humorous solo; Shania Beck, prose interpretation; and Lewis and Barrett Smith, improvised duet acting.
Other placements were: Makenzie Deines, third, and Rebekah Basore, fourth, in informative speaking; Lewis, third in poetry; Ellie Miller and Anna Weber, third in improvised duet acting; Abigail Svoboda and Kristin Vinduska, fourth in improvised duet acting; Taylor Peterson, fifth, and Nellie Kassebaum, sixth, in prose interpretation.
