Centre girls seeded 2nd, boys 4th in tourney

The Centre Invitational Basketball Tournament began Tuesday at Centre High School.

Boys team seedings, based on overall records, are as follows: 1. Hope, 7-1; 2. Elyria, 6-3; 3. White City, 5-3; 4. Centre, 3-5; 5. Peabody-Burns, 2-6; 6. Wakefield, 1-6; 7. Marion, 1-7; 8. Solomon, 0-8.

Girls team seedings are as follows: 1. Wakefield, 5-2; 2. Centre, 5-3; 3. Hope, 4-4; 4. Solomon, 2-6; 5. Elyria, 2-7; 6. Marion, 1-7; 7. White City, 1-7; 8. Peabody-Burns, 0-8.

The girls played White City Tuesday and won 45-31 The boys played Peabody-Burns and won 47-29.

Centre teams will play Friday in the main gym. Games will begin at 7 p.m.

Consolation and championship games will be played beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday.
