Five first-place finishes helped Centre High School girls track team to a tie with Hillsboro for first place April 13 at Hillsboro.
Josie Peterson finished first in discus with a throw of 84 feet, 9 inches; Carlye Simons placed first in long jump at 15-3.75. Theo Kassebaum finished the 100-meter high hurdles in 17.3 seconds for first place. Ellie Miller won high jump, clearing the bar at 4-8.
A 4x100 relay team of Samantha Seifert, Kassebaum, Simons, and Genesis Rudolph also took first place, with a time of 57.61.
The team had six second-place finishes, as well.
The boys team finished in third place, outdoing Burrton and Canton-Galva, and trailing Hillsboro and Halstead.
Trevor Troutt led the team with first-place finishes in shot put at 40-9.5 and discus at 141-4.
