Centre sweeps a triangular, then a dual against Peabody-Burns

Centre Lady Cougars improved their record Sept. 29 by defeating Rural Vista and Little River in a triangular at Little River.

After losing to Rural Vista 11-25 in the first set, they went on to win the next two 25-8 and 25-17.

Emily Schlesener served for 20 points and had 2 aces. Summer Espinoza led at the net, completing 25 of 32 spike attempts. She also had 10 kills. Shelby Pankratz completed 46 of 49 setting attempts, 10 resulting in kills. Katie Marler was 30-of-31, 6 for kills, and Espinoza was 6-of-6 with one kill.

The team defeated Little River in two sets, 25-14 and 25-18. Alexius Kendrick served for 8 points and had two aces. Espinoza was a perfect 16-of-16 at the net, including 6 kills. Pankratz set 27 balls, 11 resulting in kills. Marler set 5-of-7, 2 for kills, and Espinoza, set 7-of-7, two for kills.

At parents’ night Tuesday, the team won two matches against Peabody-Burns.

The Cougars settled in after a close first set. After winning the first match 25-21, 25-9, they finished the second match with ease, 25-13, 25-12.

They finished the night with an overall record of 10-15.
