CENTRE:   CHS alumnus places in race

Former Centre High School distance runner Justin Garrard placed eighth overall in the four-mile Trolley Run on April 17 in Kansas City, Mo., with a time of 19 minutes, 34 seconds.

The Trolley Run, named for the decommissioned streetcar tracks it follows, is the largest four-mile race in the U.S. This year the event had 8,418 participants.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired in Kansas City.

Garrard is currently working on a master of business administration degree at Ottawa University and is an assistant coach for cross country and distance track.
