Girls team finishes second in the Eisenhower League

Centre High School track athletes competed Friday in the last Eisenhower League track meet. They will be members of the new Wheat State League next year.
The regional track meet is Friday at Madison.
The girls team finished second in the league. Wakefield finished first, Hope third, Solomon fourth, White City fifth, and St. Xavier, sixth.
First-place finishers were Theo Kassebaum in the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.4 seconds, and Ellie Miller in high jump, clearing the bar at 5 feet.
Second-place finishers were Josie Peterson in shot put, Carlye Simons in the 100-meter high hurdles, Katie Remy in the 800, and Kassebaum in the 300 low hurdles.
The boys team finished fifth overall, behind Hope, Solomon, Wakefield, and White City.
Trevor Troutt had the only first-place finish with a throw of 137-11 in discus. He placed second in shot put along with Casey Kristek in the 110 high hurdles and Cole Svoboda in the 400.
