and clarifications

Last week’s Marion County Record reported that Brendan Kraus, owner of Spur Ridge Veterinary Hospital, and city council members failed to agree on a purchase of land adjoining the animal hospital.

While the council declined to sell the half section Kraus wanted, Kraus offered to purchase a quarter section.

The council voted 3 to 2 to sell a quarter section at the full asking price of $4,160 without economic development incentives, with Costello and Kline opposed.

Kraus didn’t agree to the purchase on Monday, preferring to ponder the council’s offer.

He is considering the purchase to build a facility to handle increased boarding demand as well to house a new grooming shop.
