CENTRE:   CJHS girls defeat Solomon

Playing on the road Nov. 24, Centre Junior High School girls’ A-team defeated Solomon, 18-16. It was their first victory of the season.

With little scoring in the first half, Solomon led, 4-3. The teams were tied at nine at the end of the third quarter, and Centre scored two more points than Solomon in the fourth to win the game.

Casey Simons led Centre’s scoring with seven points. Ellie Miller added four points, Anna Weber three, and Carrie Carlson and Bryanna Svoboda two each.

The B-team was defeated, 16-9. It led by one point after three quarters, 7-6, but was overwhelmed by a 10-2 scoring advantage by Solomon in the final quarter.

Skylar Sullivan made a field goal and two free throws to lead scoring with four points. Amy Makovec added three points and Mikayla Antoszyk two.
