It has been a good season for the Centre Junior High School girls basketball team. They compiled a 13-0 season after defeating Solomon Saturday, 45-26, in the championship game of the Tri-County League tournament at Solomon.

Cacey Simons scored 16 points for Centre, followed by Amy Makovec with 12. Other scorers were Makenzie Deines, 8; Bryanna Svoboda, 6; Yvonne Calvert, 2; and Shelby Makovec, 1.

The Lady Cougars defeated Wakefield Thursday, 38-8, in the second round of the tournament. Amy Makovec was leading scorer with 10 points.

Other members of the team were Brenna Shields, Callie Riffel, Nellie Kassebaum, Kailyn Riffel, Cassidy Hill, and Kaylenn Miller. Courtney Hett and Tabitha Oborny served as managers.

The team was coached by Deb Wiles, who returned to coaching this year for the first time in several years.
