Clara Bartel

Clara Bartel, 99, of Hillsboro, died March 31 at Salem Home, Hillsboro.

Born May 2, 1910, to George and Anna (Ehrhardt) Dick at Tampa, she was a farmer and nurse’s aide.

She married John J. Bartel Nov. 12, 1927, in Newton. He died in 1985. A son, Oren, also preceded her.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hillsboro.

Survivors include a son, Vernon of Cave Springs, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Doris Bartel of McPherson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church of Hillsboro with the Rev. Brett Huebner officiating.

Burial was in Durham Park Cemetery, rural Durham.

Memorial funds have been established with the church, Salem Home, and Hospice Care of Kansas.
