Class reunion activities

Class of 1945

Twenty members of Marion High School of class of 1945 will observe their 65th class reunion. The group will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday for coffee and rolls at the Rosse Case home, 802 Denver, Marion. At 10:30 a.m., they will meet on Walnut Street to ride in the parade.

After the parade, the group will participate in activities at Central Park.

Dinner will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion.

Class of 1950

The class of 1950 will begin celebrating their 60th reunion at 4 p.m. Friday at Hannaford’s cabin at Marion County Lake with a social hour. Hamburgers will be served at 5 p.m.

At 9 a.m. Saturday, the group will gather for coffee and rolls at the Legion Hall, downtown Marion. The group will meet at 10:30 a.m. in the float area on Walnut Street to ride in the parade. They will eat lunch together at noon in Central Park and participate in the class recognition.

A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Legion Hall, followed by a catered dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Class of 1955

MHS class of 1955 will celebrate its 55th reunion and will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Marion Pizza Hut.

Coffee and rolls will be served at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Historic Elgin Hotel and Bed and Breakfast. Class members should line up for the parade at 10 a.m.

Following the parade, lunch is on their own. The class will participate in class introductions in Central Park.

A catered meal will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Elgin, followed by entertainment by “Elvis” at 7:30 p.m. with other surprises planned.

Class of 1960

Marion High School class of 1960 will observe a 50th reunion.

A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Country Dream Bed and Breakfast, northeast of Marion. This will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.

The class will meet in the parade line-up area on Walnut Street and board a class float for the annual parade. Following the parade, class members will eat lunch in Central Park.

The group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Saturday for a social time at Marion County Lake Hall, followed by a catered meal at 6:30 p.m.

Class of 1970

It’s the 40th reunion for the class of 1970. Class members will gather for a get-together at 7 p.m. Friday at SherBowl Lanes.

The group will meet Saturday morning on Walnut Street to ride in the parade. Members will have lunch on their own and should plan to participate in class introductions in the afternoon.

A supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Doyle Creek Corral, downtown Florence. Bring trivia questions about 13 years of education.

Class of 1975

Members of the class of 1975, gathering for the 35th anniversary of their graduation, will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at the Pat Enos home.

Meet on Walnut Street to ride in the parade Saturday and in the park for class introductions.

A gathering is planned at 6 p.m. Saturday at Marion Country Club.

Class of 1980

Members of the MHS class of 1980 will celebrate their 30th reunion. Classmates will meet before the parade and ride on a class float.

A social is planned at 7 p.m. Saturday at Willy J’s Sports Bar.

Class of 1985

The class of 1985will celebrate its 25th reunion.

Members are invited to ride in the parade and should meet on Walnut Street. A family lunch will be at noon at Meierhoff’s house.

A catered meal will be served at 6 p.m. Saturday in the hall, located on the second story of Great Plains Computers, 324 E. Main St., Marion.

Class of 2000

This being the 10th anniversary of their graduation, the class of 2000 will meet at 6 p.m. Friday at the Moore farm for a social and to prepare a float for the parade. The group plans to go to Stone City at 9 p.m. Friday to hear the band, Vegetable, which includes class members.

Meet on Walnut Street to ride in the parade Saturday.

Dinner will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at SherBowl Lanes. Return to the Moore farm at 8 p.m.

Class of 2005

MHS class of 2005 will celebrate its five-year reunion with a hot dog roast and potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Amber Richmond family farm. Class members are asked to bring a side dish and lawn chairs. Hot dogs and paper goods will be provided. Families are welcome.

Class members are invited to ride on the class float Saturday morning in the parade. They should meet at 10:30 a.m. on Walnut Street, Marion.
