Claudia Allison

Claudia Jo (Stump) Allison, age 81, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Newton Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 20, 1931, at Perryton, Texas, the daughter of Lester and Fern (Burger) Stump. She attended schools in Perryton, Texas, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Cabool, Mo. She was a graduate of McPherson College and a public school teacher of English.

On Aug. 20, 1955, she was united to Keith Allison at Perryton, Texas. They had met while attending McPherson College. Three children were born to this union, Doug, Kendall, and Jackie. They were her pride and joy.

She is a member of Marion Presbyterian Church. She was president of the Tres Rios Presbyterian Women and active in women’s work in the church. As a result of tracing family heritage, she became a member of the Mayflower Society, going back to governor Bradford of the Plymouth colony.

Claudia was preceded in death by her eldest son, Douglas, who died in 1993.

She is survived by her husband, Keith; a son, Kendall, and wife, Patty, of McPherson; a daughter, Jackie Osborne and husband, Terry, of Hudson, Colo.; a sister, Audrey Leighnor of Perryton, Texas; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The committal service was Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at the McPherson Cemetery, and the celebration of life service was Tuesday at Marion Presbyterian Church. Visitation was Monday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.

A memorial has been established with the church.
