Coaches sound off on seniors

Tuesday was senior night for Marion High School’s basketball teams. Both teams combined had fewer seniors, three, than most squads they faced night in and night out.

Girls’ head coach Kelly Robson on senior Julia Hall:

“She’s been really good. She was going back and forth before the season about whether she even wanted to play,”
Robson said. “I think she wanted to dedicate time to volleyball, but she decided to play basketball and I’m really glad she did. I’m extremely pleased with her development as a player.”

Boys’ head coach Jeff McMillin on seniors Bret Voth and Jacob Baldwin:

“We’ve had good success recently, and we plan on having good success in the future, and they’ve really helped bridge the gap in a season where we’re rebuilding,” McMillin said. “We didn’t lose a lot of our principles, they helped keep that continuity going, and they’ve been the best leaders I’ve ever had.”
