Colletts meet for annual reunion

Marion County Lake Hall was the setting for 67 Collett descendants who gathered Oct. 8 for an annual family reunion.

President Kathy Meierhoff and husband Chris organized the event, which featured a potluck lunch, auction, and business meeting.

Auction items included Henry Collett’s 1922 high school yearbook, framed teaching contracts of both Henry Collett and Ethel (Collett) Higgins, and a necklace pocket-watch once owned by Edith Phillips engraved with her name and date of 1891.

Howard Collett was the oldest attendee. The youngest was Keenan Meierhoff, son of Erin Meierhoff.

Officers elected for 2018 were Keith Collett, president, and Konnie Schuman, secretary.
