Ron and Dora (Duerksen) Unruh of rural Durham recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They married June 1, 1955, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel and have lived and farmed northwest of Durham since.

Their family gathered for several events Memorial Day weekend.

Pictures were taken, an anniversary cake was served, and the family attended church with grandchildren performing musical numbers including a song from their grandparents’ wedding.

Festivities concluded with an anniversary dinner in the Flint Hills at Prairie Oaks Lodge.

The family includes children Brenda Enns of Hillsboro, Debra Hiebert of Peabody, Mark Unruh of Durham, and Warren Unruh of Tampa; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
