SENIOR CENTER:   Cowboys celebrated in poetry and song

Senior Center

Poetry readings by Keith Allison, Larry Blosser, Janet Bryant, Sue Clough, Connie Fisher, Joyce Jackson, Estelle McCarty, and Joan Meyer honored National Day of the Cowboy.

Shirley Bowers accompanied as patrons sang “Home on the Range.”

Barely Makin’ It Antiques shared a cardboard cutout of Roy Rogers.

The day officially is the fourth Saturday of July, but senior center patrons observed it July 20.

Marion Historical Museum director Peggy Blackman provided a program when Hilltop Manor residents visited July 27.

Sunday school class members from Aulne United Methodist Church visited the center July 22 and celebrated the birthdays of Clifford Hett and Geri Grentz.

Lanell Hett, who works for the county Department on Aging, announced she would become a grandmother in January.

A Veterans Administration representative will be at the center Tuesday, and Angels Care Home Health will present a program Wednesday.
