This information was the most current on file in criminal division of Marion County District Court as of April 12, 2012. Information often is not available until more than a week after hearings. Journal entries must be checked by the defense, prosecution, and judge before they are filed.

Douglas Edward Gable, 119 N. 8th, Herington; pleaded no-contest to charges of possession of an hallucinogenic drug (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone, and driving while license canceled, suspended, or revoked dismissed.

Bradford A. Cody Jr., 144 N. Roosevelt, Marion; made first appearance April 2 on a charge of obstruction of official duty, counsel appointed for defense; arraignment scheduled for April 23.

Ian Anders Weisbeck, 210 6th St., Marion; made first appearance April 2 on a charge of criminal damage to property, counsel appointed for defense; preliminary hearing scheduled for May 2.

Benjamin E. Keough, 843 Holly, Peabody; made first appearance April 4 on charges of possession of marijuana without a drug taxation stamp, possession of an hallucinogenic drug (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia, counsel appointed for defense. Preliminary hearing scheduled for May 2; defendant must submit to drug and alcohol testing in the interim.

Dustin L. Shiplet, 206 SW 5th, Newton; Jan. 25 arraignment continued to Feb. 15, waived formal arraignment and pleaded innocent on Feb. 15; status hearing scheduled for April 4 on motion to revoke probation and charges of battery and obstruction of official duty.

Dillon J. Wildin, 2200 S. Rock Road, Wichita; hearing on motion to revoke probation and charges of battery and obstructing official duty continued from Nov. 2 to Dec. 14, then to Jan. 25, Feb. 15, and April 4. Bench trials scheduled April 4.

Billy Joe Prater Jr., 401 N. Roosevelt, Marion; made first appearance March 5, waived right to counsel, and pleaded no-contest to a charge of misdemeanor theft; one charge of forgery was dismissed. Sentenced to a controlling sentence of 60 days in jail with one year supervised probation. Must serve 48 hours in jail for each admitted use of drugs or alcohol or failure of or refusal to take drug or alcohol test; ordered to pay $138 court costs, $22 surcharge, $60 probation fee, $45 booking fee, and $266 restitution; must write a letter of apology to the victim and perform 10 hours of community service.

Tyler G. Jones, 212 N. Prospect, Lehigh; sentencing continued from April 2 to April 23 on convictions of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and failure to obey a lawful order of a police officer.

Travis R. Grosse, 220 Santa Fe, Marion; sentenced March 19 to a controlling sentence of six months in jail with 12 months supervised probation concurrent with another case, ordered to pay $138 court costs, $22 surcharge, $1,086.83 fees for appointed counsel on a conviction of possession of an hallucinogenic drug (marijuana).

Ryan Schierling, 105 Marion, Lehigh; pleaded innocent to charges of aggravated assault and domestic battery at preliminary hearing and arraignment March 19. Status hearing scheduled for April 23.

Isaac J. Hett; 12-month diversion agreement reached on a charge of possession of an hallucinogenic drug (marijuana); must pay $125 diversion fee, $138 court costs, $22 surcharge, and $45 booking fee; must complete ASAP evaluation and perform 20 hours of community service.

Traffic

Dawn Lee Nguyen, 2179 Quail Creek Road, Marion; waived counsel Feb. 27 and pleaded no-contest to speeding 72 mph in a 55-mph zone; one charge of driving while license canceled, suspended, or revoked dismissed. Must pay $87 fine and $98 court costs.

Tyler J. Slater, Peabody; status hearing held March 21, trial scheduled for July 24 on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Elena Mendoza, 929 E. Sherman, Hutchinson; arraignment continued from March 21 to April 18 on a charge of driving while license canceled, suspended, or revoked.

Leslie W. Coker, 3033 S. Fern Ave., Wichita; status hearing continued from March 21 to April 10 on charges of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, transporting an open container of alcohol, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

Amanda G. Reyes, 4324 Mesa, Carrollton, Texas; arraignment continued from March 21 to April 18 on a charge of speeding 84 mph in a 65-mph zone.

Shelby C. Percell, 17 Random Road, Marion; sentenced March 21 to a controlling sentence of 30 days in jail with six months supervised probation on a conviction of failure to give notice of an injury accident.. Must pay $76 court costs, $22 surcharge, $25 probation fee, $150 fine, and $45 booking fee. Must serve 48 hours in jail for each admitted use of drugs or alcohol or failure of or refusal to take drug or alcohol test. Must perform 25 hours of community service.
