The following information has been filed in the criminal division of Marion County District Court:

Damon C. Dechant, purchase or consumption of alcoholic beverage by a minor.

Sidney Eugene Newton II, domestic battery; arraignment was May 11 and defendant was found indigent or partially indigent and court appointed David Harger as attorney, defendant ordered to pay $50 toward attorney fees beginning June 1, and each month thereafter until further ordered; bond was set at $1,500, own recognizance, and defendant ordered not to have contact with spouse directly or indirectly, and ordered not to consume alcohol or illegal drugs and submit to random testing.

Michael Jon Jakabosky Jr., aggravated assault, criminal threat, obstructing legal process in misdemeanor case, battery, furnishing alcohol to a minor, disorderly conduct (violation date of April 26); first appearance hearing held; defendant was found to be indigent or partially indigent and attorney David Harger was appointed, summons was continued; arraignment hearing at 9:45 a.m. June 22.

Andrew John Hastings, original charges of possession of hallucinogenic, possession of simulated controlled substances or drug paraphernalia, no liability insurance as required for vehicles, failure to drive on right side of roadway as required (violation date of Dec. 12, 2008); defendant sentenced to a controlling sentence of 60 days for count two in the custody of Marion County Sheriff which was suspended and defendant was placed on immediate supervised probation for one year with a court services officer, all other charges dismissed, said probation can be transferred and can be converted to unsupervised probation after six months; defendant shall serve 48 hours in county jail for every positive drug/alcohol test, refusal to submit, or admission of usage; ordered to pay court costs of $137, probation fee of $25, booking fee of $45, and court-appointed attorney fees as determined; defendant to setup a payment plan with court services officer.

Cassandra A. Scheuerman, criminal damage to property less than $1,000; defendant sentenced to a controlling sentence of 90 days to be concurrent to another Marion County criminal case, in the custody of Marion County Sheriff which was suspended; defendant was placed on immediate supervised probation for one year with a court services officer to be concurrent to the other Marion County criminal case; defendant shall serve 48 hours in the county jail for every positive drug/alcohol test, refusal to submit, or admission of use, defendant shall have no contact with victim, and ordered to pay court costs of $137, probation fee of $25, booking fee of $45, court-appointed attorney fees as determined by the court, and restitution of $270.52 to victim.

Stacey R. Neufeldt, defendant sentenced to a controlling sentence of 90 days for count one in the custody of Marion County Sheriff which was suspended and placed on immediate supervised probation for one year with a court services officer, defendant shall serve 48 hours in the county jail for every positive drug/alcohol test, refusal to submit, or admission of usage, no contact with the victim, and pay court costs of $137, probation fee of $25, and restitution and court-appointed attorney fees of $457.50. Restitution amount was disputed and set for hearing May 4.

Johnathan Don Shultz, six counts of rape/sexual intercourse with a child less than 14 years of age, eight counts of aggravated criminal sodomy/sodomy with a child under 14 years of age, six counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under 14 years of age, two counts of contributing to a child’s misconduct; defendant pleaded guilty to count one and count four; all other charges were dismissed; defendant was sentenced to 215 months in custody of Kansas Department of Corrections, upon release, he will have a lifetime of supervised probation.

Aaron W. Redburn, original charge of possession of stolen property with a value more than $500 was amended to criminal depravation of property, theft value less than $1,000; motion hearing to revoke probation at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 24.
