Curtis D. Fulton

SALINA — Curtis D. Fulton of Salina passed away Dec. 12, 2012, at the age of 90. Curtis was born in Talmage, Kan., to Harry and Elizabeth Fulton on Dec. 26, 1921.

He farmed with his father until he enlisted in the Naval Air Corps in 1942. After his honorable discharge in 1943, he continued to farm until 1966, when he entered the ministry of the United Methodist Church.

He married Helen Lampert on Nov. 24, 1943. They ministered fulltime for 21 years at the Florence/Aulne Charge and Grand Avenue in Salina. After retirement, they served part-time at the Kanopolis, Carneiro, and Brookville churches.

They enjoyed 10 years as “winter Texans” before becoming a part of the Eaglecrest Retirement Community in 2010.
Curtis and Helen celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on Nov. 24.

Curtis is survived by his wife Helen, son Dennis (Janette) Fulton of Jetmore and daughter Jeanna (Dale) Short of El Dorado, plus five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Dec. 19 at the Grand Avenue UMC, Salina, at 10:30 a.m. with a graveside at the Talmage Prairiedale Cemetery at 2 p.m.
