Daisy Herbison

Daisy D. (Mosiman) Herbison, 86, of Newton, passed away June 3, in Wichita.

She was born May 29, 1925, in Bloomfield, Mont., to Tobias and Mildred (Byrd) Richert.

She was enjoying being a retiree. Earlier in her life, she worked at Mid-Continent Cabinetry and most recently was a clerk and greeter at Walmart in Newton.

Daisy enjoyed the time she spent with past co-workers and friends. Her pride and passion were her family and family in Christ. She held a church membership with the First Church of God, Newton.

Her hobbies included sewing, camping, cooking, and most importantly spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids with their sports activities and hobbies.

Preceding her in death were her brothers, Raymond and Benjamin Richert; sisters Betty Matz and Mary “Mickey” Christensen; son-in-law Eugene Schmidt; and granddaughters Alicia Schmidt and April Smith.

Her survivors are three sons, Bill Mosiman and wife Liz of Moundridge, Ben Mosiman and wife Janet of Newton, Russell Mosiman and wife Christine of Olathe; four daughters, Bonnie Schmidt of Newton, Pat Embry and husband Gene of Fort Collins, Colo., Sharon Hoskins and husband Randall of Emporia, and Vickie Voth and husband David of Hutchinson; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Church of God, 620 Fairview St., Newton.

Burial will be at First Missionary Church Cemetery, rural Elbing, following the service.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Church of God, Building Fund, in care Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E Broadway St, Newton KS 67114.
