Dancing with the Warriors

Winter jam will be fun for all fans

Usually when the first Friday in December rolls around in Marion, the high school Warriors are getting ready to play their first basketball game of the season.

This year, the boys’ and girls’ teams will be ready to show-off their dance moves at the Marion High School Winter Jam.

In a collegiate “Late Night” takeoff, the MHS teams, along with the wrestlers, will provide a scrimmage and dance exhibitions for fans.

The winner of the dance contest, which will be at the USD 408 Sports and Aquatics Center, will receive a traveling trophy.

Both basketball teams and the wrestling team are practicing on their own times to win the trophy and a little respect at the same time.

“It should be a great night of fun,” said MHS activities director Tod Gordon.

Along with the dancing, the basketball teams will scrimmage each other, and the wrestlers will grapple on a mat at center court.

The event starts at 7 p.m. There is a $1 suggested donation.

It will be aired on MCTV channel 22 and is in preparation of the Marion Classic Dec. 8.
