David Montgomery

Capt. David Montgomery, 70, Cumberland, R.I., a former Marion resident and Marion High School graduate, died June 24, after a brief illness.

Montgomery was a 1960 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the submarine service for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; three sons, Stephen of Long Island, Jonathan of Hoover, Ala., and Daniel of Mystic, Conn.; three daughters, Margaret Lobo of Franklin, Mass., Melanie Kwok of Huntsville, Ala., and Marietta Montgomery of Cumberland, R.I.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. July 2 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Franklin, Mass. Burial with military honors will be later.
