Democratic women celebrate cowboy day

Marion County Democratic Women observed National Day of the Cowboy at their lunch meeting Friday at Marion Senior Center.

Sue Clough, Neysa Eberhard, Marilyn Cox, Estelle McCarty, and Connie Fisher read cowboy poetry.

Eileen Sieger, co-chair of the county Democratic party, reported that Howard Collett had agreed to serve as vice chair.

Letters of appreciation were written to State Rep. J. Robert Brookens (R-Marion), who is not seeking re-election, and to former county vice chair Keith Collett, who moved to Dickinson County to become a magistrate judge.

Connie Fisher gave devotions from the book “Interludes.”
