Denny P. Stapleton, 62, of Marion, died Jan. 30 at his home.

He was born in Hutchinson to Paul and Cora (Spillman) Stapleton. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and later worked as a lab technician.

On Dec. 14, 1996, he married Charlotte Phillips in Shell Knob, Mo. They moved to Marion six years ago to retire.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of Marion; a daughter, Stephanie Mackenzie of Long Beach, Wash.; two stepsons, James Hoy of Andover and Chris Hoy of Eagle Mountain, Utah; two stepdaughters, Debra Knight of Baton Rouge, La., and Lesa Paulson of Graettinger, Iowa; a sister, Gene Brooner of Valley Center; a grandchild; and four step-grandchildren.

There will be no public service.
