Domingo Sanchez

Domingo “Joe” Trujillo Sanchez, 89, died Dec. 11 in Plano, Texas. He was born February 7, 1926 in Peabody.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, Louisiana.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, with military honors.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Joe was a World War II veteran and attended Kansas State University on the GI Bill, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology.

He worked for Marathon Oil Company before moving in 1967 to Alexandria, where he managed the Central Louisiana territory for ICEE Corporation until his retirement.

In 2011, Joe moved to the Dallas, Texas area to be closer to his children. 

He was preceded in death by sisters Lucita T. Sanchez and Camilla T. Sanchez; brothers Pete T. Sanchez, Frank T. Sanchez, John T. Sanchez and Robert T. Sanchez; and second wife Doris L. Sanchez.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Hale; daughters, Susan L. Sanchez and Patricia D. Sanchez; son, Daniel R. Sanchez; step-daughters Lydia Williams, Beverly Lang, Marilyn Robertson, Rhonda Beason, and Teresa Marciniak; nine step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
