Don Mickels, 79, of Hesston, died Nov. 8 in Hesston.

Born Jan. 24, 1931, in Madrid, Neb., to Ray J. and Nettie (Clark) Mickels, he was a farmer and stockman.

He married Jackie Wiebe on March 25, 1951, in Madrid.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie, of Hesston; four daughters, Bonnie of Hesston, Kim Kroeker and Penni Schroeder of Hillsboro, and Leslie Brown of Kearney, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Friday morning at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. The Rev. Steve Schroeder officiated.

Burial was Saturday in Madrid.

Memorial funds have been established with Gideons and Parkview Deacon Fund in care of Jost Funeral Home of Hillsboro.
